Lucas Oil Stadium. The new home of the Indianapolis Colts as they bid farewell to the RCA Dome and will inaugurate their new home field this season.
A new era in the Hoosier State has begun. Lucas Oil Stadium will be home to the Colts, and with Peyton and the rest of the team continuing their winning ways, Lucas Oil Stadium should be filled with numerous Colt fans for years to come. The seating capacity is at 63,000+ and can have an additional 6-7000 more seats for special events.
This facility will also host many other events besides football. The NCAA Basketball Final Four Tournaments for both the men and women divisions will be played here in the next couple of years. The Drum Corps International has moved their headquarters to Indianapolis and the facility will be the host though 2018. Also, Bands of America and the Indiana Marching Band State Finals will be held here as well.
So, in the land where basketball is king, the Colts and Lucas Oil Stadium have done a fine job of winning the hearts of Hoosier-land. Let the new era begin.
