Municipal Stadium. Where the Jacksonville Jaguars Dominate in a Great Football State
Municipal Stadium. Where the Jacksonville Jaguars have a proud tradition of fine football in a football dominated State. Home to one of two expansion teams that were awarded in 1993, the Jaguars have had strong success early on and have consistently produced solid teams and players for the NFL Pro Bowl.
The Jacksonville Jaguars play at the former Gator Bowl stadium, which was renovated for the new expansion team and is host to several college football games throughout the season. Home of The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, an annual football game between the University of Georgia and the University of Florida, the stadium is never dull as the neutral site for the two SEC powerhouse teams. This past football season, Florida State University and the University of Alabama played the first unofficial "River City Showdown" at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.
Also home to the long-standing Gator Bowl, the conferences from the Big East, Big 12, ACC or independent Notre Dame play in this early January bowl game.
