NFL Week 10
Predictions, Upsets and Scores

Week 10 is starting off early, with a Thursday night game between the Denver Broncos and the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland has caused the most drama with the changing of the quarterback after Baltimore came out and hit them in the mouth on their own home turf. Denver is dead to me!!! I had faith in them, and they have let me down three weeks in a row, and let the Dolphins run wild on Denver's turf. Denver and Buffalo will be the dissapointments of the second half of the NFL.

Week 9 was OK, ending on a sour note as the Patriots allowed the Colts to win at home and the Redskins losing on their home turf as well. The Patriots dropped TD passes, called timeouts to kick a field goal when the offensive was able to move the ball for a touchdown, and they did a poor job of working their magic against Peyton in making him confused. The Redskins had no heart, because the Steeler defensive pounded it out of them. They were definitely the week 9 disappointment for the NFL. I was accurate in the upset of the week prediction of Cincinnati defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags had no heart as well. I am predicting that the Jags will be the Week 10 upset victims of the week again, as Detroit will get their first victory against them. My record last week was 8-6. My biggest surprise was Arizona winning at St. Louis when St. Louis had momentum. Good tough victory for the Cardinals. Buffalo is another NFL second half disappointment for me, as they showed no heart in the loss to the Jets, even though Brett gave them 7 points.

Once again, the cream of the crop matchups for Week 10 are the New York Giants at Philadelphia playing on Sunday Night Football, Indy at Pittsburgh, and Tennessee traveling to Chicago for a battle at Soldier Field. Big conference games include Green Bay at Minnesota, Buffalo at New England, New Orleans at Atlanta and the 49ers at the Arizona Cardinals. Good stuff for this week. Several great games to watch as you visit your favorite watering hole and enjoy some hot wings.

The teams that have a BYE in week 10 are: Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Washington Redskins.

Now, on with the week 10 predictions.

Denver Broncos at Cleveland Browns
Denver, you are dead to me. No heart, no class, no fight no nothin'. Done with you. You will be a top 10 pick in the 2009 draft because you have collapsed and do not want to win. Cleveland, you will have a new head coach by the end of the year, as Brady Quinn will not be the answer to dropped passes, wrong pass routes, and interceptions that Quinn will be throwing trying to learn opposing defenses. Derek Anderson will be gone from the Browns at the end of the year to another team, and he produce the numbers that he did last year with another team. This game is a wash to me. I guess home field will be the difference.
Browns 20 Broncos 13

New Orleans at Atlanta Falcons
Big rivalry and NFC South conference game. New Orleans is coming off a bye week, while Atlanta won big on the road at Oakland. Atlanta is hitting on all cylinders and with a home field and crowd to back them up, I don't see how New Orleans will win this one. Yeah, New Orleans won in London, but they haven't been too consistent, especially on the road against tough opponents to think they are going to pull this one off. It could be a shoot-out, as Matt Ryan and Drew Brees throw for over 300+ yards, an then the one holding the ball at the end will win, but I think Atlanta's defense will rise to the occasion.
Falcons 35 Saints 31

Tennessee Titans at Chicago Bears
Tennessee in a blow out. Chicago wins by 4 against Detroit at home? And had to come from behind, and now Rex Grossman is in control? Nope, ain't gonna happen. Tennessee won't win by a huge margin, but they will dominate on both sides of the ball. The defense will sack Grossman at least 3 times, and Kerry will be able to move the ball against Urlacher and the rest of the Bears defense. NFL Week 10 Game of the Week # 2
Titans 24 Bears 13

Jacksonville at Detroit
If there is one victory for Detroit this year, this is the game. Jacksonville is on the road again, and Detroit actually played a decent game in Chicago. Dante Culpepper is at the helm of the offensive for Detroit, and all he needs to do is throw the deep ball to Calvin Johnson in the "jump ball" situations. Not too difficult. But if Detroit doesn't shore up their defense it will be a see-saw game that will be an offensive shoot-out. But I will give Detroit the nod for this week, because if they can't win this one, 0-16 is a strong possibility. NFL Week 10 Upset of the Week
Lions 27 Jaguars 20

Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins
Remember a couple of weeks ago, I pointed out that West Coast teams do not show up on the East Coast and win in the 1:00 PM EST games? Well, Seattle isn't going to break that streak of losing West Coast teams this week. But Miami sure can play out West, and with the Dolphins not having to fly across the country to play game, they should notch another victory in the W column.
Dolphins 20 Seahawks 10

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings
Another great conference game here. Green Bay lost a tough game to the Titans in OT, as the Titan defense was more than what Aaron Rodgers could handle. Minnesota doesn't have a suffocating defense like the Titans do, and that will be exposed. Rodgers will throw for 300+ yards, while Adrian Peterson will not have as much freedom to run as he did last week. While the Vikes have won the last 3 out of 4 games and have homefield advantage, I expect that to be thrown out the window in the cross state rivalry. Pack will win in a hard fought game here.
Packers 24 Vikings 20

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots
Buffalo, you are DEAD TO ME!!!! You have no heart, no fight, no will to win. You let the Jets beat you and Brett gave you a TD pass. You will collapse for the rest of this season. The Pats need to sharpen up, but I think that a home game and a week in practice has made them a better team than the one that couldn't win in Indy last week.
Patriots 27 Bills 13

St. Louis Rams at New York Jets
St. Louis had momentum and lost it when Arizona came to town and hit them in the face. Smashed them, made the Rams look like the Rams at the beginning of the year. New York isn't pretty at all, but the defense keeps them in the game, and the Jet defense is very impressive. The Jets will win, but the Jets need to get it together for a big run here in November and December. I think the Jets will put it all together here, and have a big win.
Jets 38 Rams 10

Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans
Baltimore had an impressive win at Cleveland, but the defense provided many of the points and breaks that they needed to win, not Flacco and the offense. The Texans defense was run over last week by the Vikes Adrian Peterson, and their offense is hurting with Matt Schaub out. Will the Texans be able to win another home game or are they starting to wither away? Is Baltimore for real or are they inconsistent? Tough one to call here but I think that two road wins for Baltimore is too much to ask.
Texans 19 Ravens 16

Carolina Panthers at Oakland Raiders
Carolina is too strong and a better executing team than the Raiders. The only way that Oakland will win is if the Panthers come off their bye week flat and overlook them. And that is not going to happen.
Panthers 31 Raiders 13

Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers
While the Colts won a "must win" game against rival New England Patriots, the Steelers have the best defense in the NFL. The Steelers lost at home to the younger Manning, but they will not lose to the elder Manning. The Colts still have not found their dominant play like the Steelers have. The Steelers continue to find the heart and courage to win tough games despite the injuries and setbacks that have occurred throughout the season. The Colts have not.
Steelers 25 Colts 16

Kansas City Chiefs at San Diego Chargers
The Chiefs played a great game against the Bucs last week, but they couldn't complete the game, allowing the Bucs to score with less than a minute in regulation and eventually win in OT. Tough break. The Chargers are coming off a bye week and a loss to the Saints in London. It has been a disappointing first half for the Chargers, some it being their fault and some of the disappointment due to bad calls. Either way, they just need to get it together and start pushing people around. I think this week against KC, the Chargers start to pound some opponents around and make a run for it.
Chargers 17 Chiefs 10

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
Wow. Another big game for the Giants. Phily hosts the Giants on NFL Sunday Night Football and it will be a head banger. Philly got a win last week on the road, but a win in Seattle isn't anything to brag about. The Giants won on the road two weeks ago against the Steelers as well as last week at home against Dallas, their hated rivals. I think the Giant defense will be too much for McNabb to handle as the pressure will be coming from both sides. Although Philly has a healthy receiving corps, I still remember pass plays that wouldn't go further than 7-10 yards because McNabb wouldn't take a risk and throw it downfield. And the Giant D won't allow the big play like Philly needs to. But Philly was willing to give up a 90 TD pass, and I can only imagine Eli chunking it downfield several times for the big play. NFL Week 10 Game of the Week # 1.
Giants 27 Eagles 21

NFL Week 10 Monday Night Football
San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals
Are you kidding me? The 49ers are worthy of a MNF game? Maybe they expect new head coach Mike Singletary to moon the crowd at halftime instead of his players. I can't wait for the post-game coaches interview with him, because there is no way that the 49ers hold a candle in the wind to the Cardinals at home. Arizona plays great on MNF at home, and the way they won on the road last week is a sign of change for the Cardinals. I really believe that the Cards will make a playoff slot, either as a wild card or they will win the division. And that change for the positive began last week, and will continue this week with this victory.
Cardinals 31 49ers 14

That is all for Week 10. I will be looking forward tro the conference games and the games of the week. We'll see if the Lions can pull of the upset of the year against Jacksonville. Until then.... the beat goes on.
