Week 11
NFL predictions

Week 10 is history and what a week it was. Will week 11 be just as entertaining? Big Ben said that he personally lost the Steelers game, but Indy did a great job and Sanders provided an extra jolt of energy for resilient Colts. Minnesota escapes Green Bay with a wide right field goal that would have propelled the Packers to victory. What got into Baltimore and the New York Jets? Wow!! Impressive wins for both teams. Kansas City was so close, but yet so far away when they didn't convert the two-point attempt at the end of the game. Tennessee continues to punch people in the mouth, this time the victim was the Chicago Bears. The Bears did a great job of holding the running game, but Kerry lit it up with his arm and carried the Titans to victory. Detroit is really looking like 0-16 at the moment. Finally, San Francisco lost their head the last minute of their game and let the game get away from them. They had every opportunity, but common sense was not about them during the final 30 seconds.

Week 11 starts off early again, but what a heck of a game scheduled for you. The bad blood rivalry of the New York Jets traveling to the New England Patriots for their rivalry. Both teams are on top of the division at 6-3, the coaches hate each other, Favre has greatly improved since the beginning of the season, (although he still tries to do too much and will throw the interception), and the running game for both teams has greatly improved. So this will definitely be a top Game of the Week, and it is only Thursday. Then Week 11 has Baltimore at the New York Giants and Dallas at Washington to finish the NFL Sunday on Sunday Night Football.

The BYE weeks are done, and every team will be playing every week now. Last week I was 9-5 again, with the upset of Pittsburgh being my biggest surprise. Detroit had no heart, and 0-16 is a very strong possibility now. Houston was also a huge loss, with Baltimore finding their stride on the road.

So lets get to it. Week 11 is right here, right now.

New York Jets at New England Patriots
Wow, Thursday Night and the best matchup of the week is right now. What more to say? Favre/Cassel; Belichick/Mangini; Green-Ellis/Jones and Keller/Welker. And don't forget about the battle in the trenches. I've been partial to Brett Favre for many weeks now, but he has taken the Jets team to a new level. His personal performance hasn't been that great this year, but he makes everyone else around him better. Brett also knows big games. And this is probably the biggest game for the Jets this year during the regular season. A lot is on the line but I think that Brett and the Jets will rise to the occasion. Week 11 Game of the Week
Jets 24 Patriots 17

Denver Broncos at Atlanta Falcons
Denver, you won at Cleveland, but you are still not worthy of trust. Brady Quinn nearly won the game, and you really didn't play like you wanted to win. The defense is still weak, and Matt Ryan is going to pick you guys apart. Atlanta is the turn around team of the year, as Buffalo has faded while the Birds continue to rise to the challenge. This game will be a great one to watch, if you are a Falcons fan.
Falcons 34 Broncos 20

Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals
While the Eagles took a tough loss to New York last week, they did play a pretty good game. Cincinnati is coming off their BYE week, but I don't think that they will have the answers to the Eagles offense. The Bengals will play hard, but at the end the score will not be in their favor.
Eagles 24 Bengals 16

Chicago at Green Bay
Everything will point to Chicago as the obvious winner of this game. Chicago played a stinging defense against the Titans last week, while Green Bay didn't play defense against the Vikes. The Pack are 4-5 after their hot start. Aaron Rodgers isn't playing like he did at the beginning of the season, could be the lingering shoulder injury. But this is a conference game, a heated rivalry game that should be a fun one to watch. Chicago has momentum going for it, but the Pack should put up a fight. Tough one to call, but I will take momentum every time.
Bears 21 Packers 17

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts
This game could get ugly real fast here. The Colts got a huge win at Pittsburgh while the Texans had the wrath of the Ravens' Flacco upon them. Sage Rosenfels didn't perform like he needed to, and the Texans couldn't find a defense that could stop Flacco and the Ravens. So there are many more questions for this Texans team that need to be answered. The Colts have finally answered some questions of their own. While they are not playoff caliber yet, they are making significant progress. And this week is another step in the right direction.
Colts 31 Texans 14

New Orleans Saints at Kansas City Chiefs
While the Chiefs played hard in their loss to the Chargers last week, they didn't pull of the upset. The Saints looked miserable against the Falcons, and I don't see much improvement for them when they are going to travel to KC and play in the cold. I like this game for KC, this is theirs to lose. Hopefully the fans will cheer them to victory as KC will play inspired football. Week 11 Upset of the Week
Chiefs 27 Saints 20

Oakland Raiders at Miami Dolphins
Another West Coast team playing on the East Coast. The Dolphins are playing inspired ball, beating Seattle last week. The Raiders are playing for a top 5 position in the 2009 NFL Draft. While it won't be a blowout, I have a hard time believing that the Raiders will be the first West Coast team to win a game against an East Coast team.
Dolphins 21 Raiders 10

Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants
Another tough challenge for the Giants, but another victory too. The Ravens will challenge them, but the offense of the Ravens will not be able to handle the Giants defense. Eli is more polished than Flacco, and that will be the difference. Home field advantage won't hurt either.
Giants 24 Ravens 20

Minnesota Vikings at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
While Minnesota plays good at home, they struggle on the road. The Bucs are tough at home, and I don't see them having a problem containing Adrian Peterson. While Adrian is a great running back, he still isn't consistant on the road or after a big game. Last week was a huge game for him, but expect a downfall this week.
Bucs 24 Vikings 17

Detroit at Carolina
Carolina is coming off a BYE week. Detroit is just off on everything. Not even close.......
Panthers 38 Lions 13

St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers
Mental mistakes cost the 49ers the upset victory last week. Hopefully Coach Singletary will have his head and the players heads' squarely on their shoulder and will play 60 minutes of football, not 59:30 like they did last week.
49ers 24 Rams 10

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks
While the Cardinals had to hang tough against the 49ers to win last week, they did win. Seattle played tough at Miami, and Hasselback will be back for the Hawks. But I think that the Cardinals have the momentum, and the Hawks don't have the chemistry to win this one. Unless the Cards come out flat, this is their game to lose.
Cardinals 27 Seahawks 19

San Diego Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Chargers may be able to steak one away here. The game is at 4:15 p.m. EST so the early game syndrome shouldn't be too big of a factor. Big Ben is doubtful at the moment. But I don't think the Steelers D will allow two home loses. The Chargers D will not have the answers for the talent that the Steelers have.
Steelers 25 Chargers 17

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Titans just keep winning. A very impressive feat, especially since they were shut down on their running game last week. The Jags won big against the Lions, but that really isn't a true test for a foe like the Titans. The Jags are up and down, while the Titans are just up. They will be 10-0 at the end of the game.
Titans 25 Jags 17

Week 11 Sunday Night Football
Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins
A traditional rivalry that has lost some of its luster. Dallas is coming off a BYE week, so the drama has settled a little bit. But give Jerry Jones a camera and 2 seconds of air time and he will start talking just like the rest of the Cowboys. They have to have a camera in their face to be happy. Washington is coming off a BYE week too, after having Pittsburgh hit them in the mouth at home. The question is in this game: Which Redskin team will show up? Will it be the same Redskin team that played smash mouth football when they went to Dallas or the Redskin team that lost to the Rams? Redskins in a close one..... Week 11 NFL Game of the Week #2
Redskins 24 Cowboys 23

Week 11 Monday Night Football
A Monday Night of disappointments. Both teams are going downhill fast. The Browns are trying to rely on Brady Quinn, but I don't think he is the turn-around answer. Cleveland should have won the game last week, but you can't complete a pass if the receivers do not want to catch it. Buffalo needs this game more than Cleveland. Cleveland's season is done, and so is their head coach. Buffalo probably won't make the playoffs, but they still have a fighting chance.
Bills 17 Browns 10

There it is...... Week 11 in a nutshell. Are you ready for some football?
