Week 14 NFL Scores, Preditctions and Upsets
Week 14 begins tonight, continuing the Thursday Night NFL Football. Couple of upsets last week, with the Jets going down in a blaze of glory, the Cardinals choking again in Philly, and New Orleans not being able to find their stride. Oakland Raiders at San Diego Chargers A game that has two "has been" teams going at it. Al Davis vs. Norv Turner. The Chargers lost last week to the Falcons, and their season is done. Oakland's season was done a long time ago. Not much to lose and not much on the line either. Maybe McFadden and Tomlinson will battle it out on the ground, making for some exciting runs. But don't count on it. Home field advantage will help in this game. Chargers 17 Raiders 9
Jacksonville Jaguars at Chicago Bears The Bears are still in the hunt, some are predicting that they will win the NFC North division. They play well at home, but suck on the road. The Jags will play OK but there is nothing consistant with them. Being on the road with possible snow flurries and cold winds in Chicago will only assist the Jags in freezing them on the field Bears 24 Jaguars 13
Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions A huge surprise, but Detroit actually plays somewhat well for a while before losing the game. And this game will be no different. The Vikings are going to look over Detroit for the first half, but then they will wake up at halftime and run the table on Detroit, as Detroit continues their 0-16 season. Vikings 24 Lions 17
Hoston Texans at Green Bay PackersThe weather will play a factor in this game. Houston will not be able to function in the cold, and Green Bay will have home field advantage and the ability to play in the cold is well documented. Packers 27 Texans 6
Cinncinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts While the Colts didn't execute well last week, they did win. Barely. The Bengals keep on losing, and there isn't any end in site. The Colts will win, but it will be an ugly game. I don't expect Peyton to do well. But the team will get better as they keep trying to get ready for the playoffs. Colts 31 Bengals 20
Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints This will be a shootout, but the Falcons have a better defense and an all-around team. The Saints played great on MNF, but then couldn't find themselves last week. This is a great rivalry game, but the bottom line is the Falcons are a better team and will win this road game, securing them for at least a wild card playoff spot in the next week or so. Falcons 31 Saints 30
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants While the Eagles played well on Thanksgiving Night, there is no comparison to their performance on the road. And New York is not the place for them to come in and try to turn the corner and find out if they are a playoff contender team. They're not. The Giants are not missing a beat, despite the drama that they had over the past week. Giants 28 Eagles 20
Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans So long Crennel, it was fun while it lasted. Your quaterbacks are toast, and so are you. Titans 41 Browns 16
Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills The Bills are done for this year. Miami is still in contention, but playing in Buffalo in cold weather will be a challenge for them. The Bills have no running game, and it is killing them. I don't think this is the game that the Bills will pull out, as the Dolphins defense will be to much to handle. Dolphins 17 Bills 9
New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks New England will find their winning ways again. The Seahawks just do not have it this year. They are a top 5 draft pick for next year's draft. Patriots 31 Seahawks 16
Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos Every time I pick Denver to lose, they win. Every time I pick Denver to win, they lose. So I don't really know what to think. The Broncos should win; they are the better team, they are at home they have been winning the last couple of games. The Chiefs beat the Broncos at KC, and that should be a revenge factor for the Broncos. Broncos 26 Chiefs 10
New York Jets at San Francisco 49ersThe Jets can not afford to stumble again. They were outplayed at home last week, and there is no excuse. If they want to go deep into the playoffs, they better learn not to have these "hick-up" type of games. There is no forgiveness in January. This will be a good win for the Jets on the road. But they better be in command from the opening kickoff to the final seconds, because if they cannot win with style on the road against the 49ers, then there are some mental gaps that need to get corrected before the end of December. Jets 28 49ers 17
St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals I guess the Cardinals will win this one, as the Rams are not as strong as they were earlier this year. Arizona needs this game, else they are not worthy of being division champs and have home field advantage. Cardinals 24 Rams 16
Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers This is a great game. There are many factors in this game, the Steelers D, the Cowboys offense, playing outside in snow and temperatures below freezing. Dallas can't play in the cold, and that will be a huge facture. The Steelers are better in low scoring games, and this will be no different. Week 14 Game of the Week Steelers 17 Cowboys 14
Washington Redskins at Baltimore Ravens The Redskins have been a disappointment again, not hitting on all of the cyclinders with their offense and the defense has been spotty. The Ravens keep on rolling, and Flacco is extremely impressive, just a notch lower than Matt Ryan of the Falcons. The Redskins do not have an answer for a big game performer. Clinton Portis has not been the answer on offensive, and Jason Campbell has not been managing the game like he needs to. Flacco has done great at managing a game and the Raven D is too powerful for Washington. Week 14 Sunday Night Football Ravens 28 Redskins 14
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers Another great game here. Carolina needs to do some soul searching to see if they really want to win. I am not impressed. The Bucs have done a great job both on the road and at home, so I expect them to give Carolina too much to handle. Expect the weather to be a factor in keeping the score low and having this be a ground attack. Should be a great one. Week 14 Monday Night Football Buccaneers 16 Panthers 10
