Weekly Predictions
Week 3

Week 3 brings some interesting games to determine if some teams are worthy of their record, and are truely diamonds among the charcoal. Is Arizona really a 2-0 with a possible 3-0 record? Is the 2-0 Green Bay Packers as strong of a team as the 2-0 Dallas Cowboys? Is Buffalo for real?

Then there is the opposite side of the coin. Week 3 will determine if Detroit is as pathetic as they appear to be at 0-2. And who is worse, Detroit or Kansas City? There will be an in-state rivalry when Pittsburgh goes to Philly, one of the Week 3 highlight games.

So here are my predictions for Week 3:

Kansas City at Atlanta Falcons
Well, Atlanta beat Detroit like a drum, and KC isn't playing much better. KC is on the road, and Atlanta has tasted victory already. Not a lot of fireworks for this game but here is my prediction:
Atlanta 17 Kansas City 10

Oakland Raiders at Buffalo Bills
Oakland had some life to them last week, winning against KC. Buffalo is much better than KC, and they are at home. The Bills D will shut down McFadden and JaMarcus Russell, and Lane Kiffen will be fired, but still getting paid, by Tuesday.
Bills 28 Raiders 13

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Chicago Bears
Important game for both teams. Chicago lost a heartbreaker to the Panthers last week, and the Bucs got on track with a victory and a strong defense performance. The Bears may be without Devon Hester, a major blow if he can't be 100% on the field. This one is a tough pick.
Bears 20 Bucs 17

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans
This is the drama game. Houston has drama with their team and city picking up from Hurricane Ike. Tennessee has had the drama of Vince Young. To the Texan fans, my heart goes out to you. I lived through Hurricane Katrina and it took a long time to care about anything else, as your heart, body and soul go numb when trying to recover.
Titans 31 Texans 17

Carolina Panthers at Minnesota Vikings
This is the "Make or Break" game for both teams. Carolina needs an impressive win to make them an established elite team in the NFL. Minnesota needs a victory or they will be broken for the rest of the season. I think the Panthers are the cream of the crop, and the Vikes have Gus Ferotte.
Panthers 34 Vikes 20

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots
Miami is struggling, as they almost won their season opener, but took a beating last week with Phoenix. New England is still strong, as the rest of the world is finding out that Tom Brady doesn't play defense, but there are 11 kick-ass Pats that do. Miami could make waves with an upset here, but....... it isn't going to happen.
Pats 31 Fins 13

Cincinnati Bengals at New York Giants
Even Ocho Cinco knows better to open his mouth about this game....
G-Men 24 Bengals 13

Arizona Cardinals at Washington Redskins
This is an interesting game. Are the Cards strong enough to go 3-0 or are they a ho-hum team that beat some sucky teams the past two weeks. And which Washington team will show up? The Deadskins from week 1 or the Redskins of week 2?
Skins 21 Birds 17

Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers
Detroit is NUMBER 1!!!!! for the 2009 NFL draft. 0-3 and no hope in site....... Just win on Thanksgiving for old times sake, ok?
49ers 24 Cubs 17

St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks
Will the real slim shady please stand up?
Birds 24 Rams 13

New Orleans Saints at Denver Broncos
Denver looks impressive in Oakland and then fights for their lives at home last week. Saints look impressive at home and then stumbled badly in DC. So what will they do this week?
Wild Horses 28 Mardi Gras 24

Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles
This is the game of the week for Week 3 of the NFL season. Phily dug themselve a hole by losing in the big D on MNF. Pittsburgh is looking strong, but only 10 points on a windy night at Cleveland leaves something to be desired. This one is going to be a nail-biter again.
Eagles 28 Steelers 26

Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts
Hmm.... Indy was playing poorly until the second half of last weeks' game. Is the old Indy back? The Jags have some major issues to work out, but they will have to wait until next week to straighten them out.....
Colts 24 Jags 15

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore didn't play last week as it was a victim along with the Houston Texans of Hurricane Ike. Cleveland couldn't find their offensive last week either.
Ravens 17 Browns 14

Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers
This game will determine who is worthy of the 3-0 record. GB was looking really strong, and then allowed the Lions to take the lead before Kitna threw you two Christmas presents in September to your defense. Da Boys just played ball and hung tough for 60 minutes. Tony Romo is a cut above John Kitna, so no more presents for the Cheeseheads!
Cowboys 31 Pack Attack 19

And the Monday Night Football Special is:
New York Jets at San Diego Chargers
As much as I love Brett, he does hold the NFL record for interceptions, and it was a huge mistake last week it a tough game. The Bolts are due, since they had won on the road but a wrong call killed them and they fell apart.
Bolts 24 Prop Planes 17

Well there they are. My Week 3 predictions. Time will tell if I have another stellar week of predictions.

Until then, the beat goes on......
