Week 5
NFL Predictions

Week 5 is here, and my how things have shaken out in the NFL. The Cowboys are probably the most talented team, but the Redskins were more determined. Isn't it ironic that the Skins win at the legendary Cowboys Stadium one last time? The Steelers won in OT and they also won the award for the ugliest uniforms in the NFL, although I haven't seen Phily in their ugly uniforms yet. Brett played like he was 26 again, Saints found their offense with Deuce back running the ball like old times sake, and it was a pretty fun week.

Now Week 5. Some interesting matchups here. Titans at the Ravens is my game of the week, with the Ravens pulling it off. Another upset that I am predicting is Miami winning once again and the victim is SD. Week 5 has the Giants playing at home after a week off, the Lions will be tamed by the Bears, and the Eagles will be beaten by the Redskins for the Game of the Week. Four teams are off for week 5: Cleveland, Oakland, St. Louis and the Jets.

Time will tell, and the beat goes on.......

Kansas City Chiefs at Carolina Panthers
While the Chiefs are riding high in a surprise victory over the Denver Broncos, the Panthers are well prepared for an attack at home. My hat is off to the Chiefs, but there are many questions left for this team to come together and improve. If they do pull off the upset, KC is on the road to recovery, and the Panthers would fall apart. But that isn't going to happen.
Panthers 24 Chiefs 20

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions
Detroit has hit rock bottom. At least Ford Jr. had the anatomy to call out Matt Millan, and finally his father gave in. About 5 years too late, but at least it happened. I would like to say that this is the beginning of a new team in Detroit, but things are sooo bad, soooo ugly that if Detroit can pull of this upset, Chicago shouldn't be allowed to play the rest of the season. But that won't happen.
Chicago 41 Detroit 17

Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers
Which Atlanta team will show up this week? The good one or the ugly one? Which Packer team will show up too? Will AR be able to perform? I call this the question mark game because there are so many questions that need to be answered, and the playing field is the only location to answer them.
Packers 20 Falcons 19

San Diego Chargers at Miami Dolphins
This is an interesting game. Are the Dolphins for real? Are the Chargers on the right path to victory right now? The Chargers are two plays away from being 4-0, but the Dolphins just slewed Golieth with a huge win and then a bye week to rest up. I like the Dolphins in this one. They are probably a 6-10 team this year, but those 6 wins will be big upsets. And this is win number 2 for them.Week 5 Upset of the Week #1
Dolphins 29 Chargers 27

Seattle Seahawks at New York Giants
Will the bye week hurt the Giants? It is always difficult to judge how a week off will affect a team. The Giants were looking great, and I don't see where Seattle will be able to pull off the upset.
G-Men 24 Seahawks 13

Washington Redskins at Philedelphia Eagles
Two things were uncovered in last week's game for these two teams: 1)The Redskins are a hell of a lot better than when they played the Giants to open the season and 2)Philedelphia cannot play come-from-behind ball. If the Eagles do not come out and dominate this game and get a lead of at least 24 points by halftime, then the Skins are in the victory circle. My prediction for the Week 5 Game of the Week? 'Skins with the win.
Skins 31 Eagles 25

Tennessee Titans at Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens lost a game they should have had in Pittsburgh last Monday night. The Titans really haven't had a stiff challenge on the field. The Titans have been on a roll and will be predicted to win by many experts, but this is the biggest test that they will face so far. So this is my Week 5 Upset of the Week #2 is right here.
Ravens 24 Titans 23

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans
This will be an emotional game for the Texans. Their stadium has been beat up, many families are still recovering from Ike, and it is time for the Texans to have something to cheer about. The first home game of the season will bring them joy, as emotion and adrenaline will propel them to victory over a very confused Colts team.
Texans 19 Colts 13

Tampa Bay Bucanneers at Denver Broncos
Denver was the weakest of the 3-0 teams, and it showed last week in their lose at KC to make them 3-1. The Bucs have been coming on strong but their are two things going against them this week, elevation and a mean Bronco offensive. Expect a shootout in Mile High Country.
Broncos 31 Bucs 24

Buffalo Bills at Arizona Cardinals
The Bills are the talk of the NFL. They have done well. The Cardinals didn't have any defense in New York and Brett showed up and pulled another "game to remember" throwing for 6 TD passes. There will be changes made on defense for the Cards, but not enough to overpower a very balenced Bills team.
Bills 34 Cards 21

New England Patriots at San Francisco 49ers
The Pats had a week off to make them even more angry thinking about the loss at home to the Fins. The 49ers are a confused group on offense, and I don't see them putting a team effort to upset the Patriots.
Pats 25 49ers 15

Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys
Well, Chad Johnson or whatever his last name is, decided to open his mouth again, and words came flying out. Dallas was upset at home and T.O. also let words come out of his mouth. Interestingly enough, there isn't much difference in the words from out of the recievers' mouths, but there is a major difference in performance on the field. T.O. needs to get over the "throw it to me and we will always win" syndrome, as he was to blame for part of the lose last week. This week, Marion Barber will run wild, and the 'Boys will win big too.
'Boys 42 Bengals 19

Pittsburgh Steelers at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Steelers won a close one last week at home in the ugliest uniforms I have ever seen, and the Jags are getting back in their groove. So this should be a good tight game. I saw a lot of cracks in the Steeler D that I haven't seen in many games, and I think the Jags will take advantage of that and the home field advantage will prompt them to a victory.
Jags 24 Steelers 20

Monday Night Football Week 5
Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints
Minnesota doesn't have the rhythem that the Saints have. Both team are struggling, but the Saints have shown better promise than the Vikes. It could be a very long year for the Vikes if major changes are not made. As long as Deuce McAllister gets 70+ yards on the ground or 100+ yards in both rushing and receiving, the Saints will move the chains and Drew Brees will be able to hit the recievers like he does so well. And it will happen again this week.
Saints 34 Vikes 22

Teams that have a BYE week: Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams, and New York Jets.
